Health Technologies
The field of activities of the BIGT lie in the interdisciplinary economic sector of health, covering industry, craft trades, trade and services. Its staff especially follow the use of new technologies in the health sector and its sub-sectors.
Areas of work for the BIGT team are to be found in particular in fields in which medical progress starts to interact with the use of other technologies, such as in the case, for example, in information and communication technologies (ICT). Our project-related work is client-oriented and performed in close co-operation with doctors and hospitals in the region.
Areas of Specialization
For the health sector as an area of the economy, the BIGT offers a development and demonstration platform for ICT systems. This covers the areas of signal and image processing, technical documentation, biometry/monitoring as well as communication systems in medicine.
The development and demonstration platform is based on common ICT systems in the health sector and offers:
- up-to-date information for decision-making
- unbiased technical and business advice
- development projects in co-operation with external partners
- the development of new service offers
- active support of start-up businesses
- training courses in co-operation with further training organizations in the region
