HighTech Europe

3. Oktober 2012

Conxemar exhibition,
Vigo, Spanien

The Network of Excellence “HighTech Europe” invites to the workshop “Novel Technologies in Seafood Processing and Preservation” at Conxemar exhibition in Vigo, Spain on October 03, 2012. Topics will include a broad range from processing to packaging to traceability to product innovation.

Spain is among the 20 main fish producers of the world. In Galicia alone, where the workshop is held, the contribution of the fish sector represents more than 10% of the Gross Domestic Product. New technologies for processing and preservation of seafood products in fields like high pressure, superchilling as well as thawing and defrosting are of relevant importance for the transformation and commercialization of seafood products. Which factors contributed to make these new technologies successful? What difficulties had to be overcome? And how can companies benefit from them? These topics will be addressed by a selection of handpicked lecturers from companies (Marel, Sealed air, Sairem and Angulas Aguinaga) as well as research centres (IRTA-CENTA, ttz Bremerhaven, AZTI). The workshop, which is mainly oriented to companies, will provide an in-depth overview on latest findings in this field.

The workshop, which is kindly supported by Conxemar and PTEPA, is organized alongside the 14th Conxemar Exhibition which is specialised in the fish sector. With a gross floor area of 31.500 m2, its last edition in 2011 had over 500 exhibitors (30% international) and around 40 countries were represented.

Mehr Informationen über das Programm und die Vortragenden des Workshops finden Sie auf der Projekt-Website und bei der LinkedIn group. Die Anmeldung zum Workshop ist kostenlos und online möglich.
